Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan (Part 2)

Image
We had decided to spend the day driving a motorcycle around to explore. We were preparing for our day trip. The Beach Huts Lembongan hotel was situated on a narrow walkway some distance above the beach with heavy pedestrian traffic. We carefully walked the motorcycle through the crowd of tourists until we got to a safe spot to mount the machine.  We climbed onto the motorcycle and embarked on our day of exploration. We carefully maneuvered around oblivious pedestrians to get to our first spot, the Seaweed Farms. The roads were very unpredictable and had many winding twists, turns, and steepness. Joe had forgotten his sunglasses and with the sun beating down on us like it was, we needed to find a place that sold them and quick. It wasn't difficult in the area we were in however, so we stopped by a small open store and had a quick look around. As we were looking at the sunglasses, we noticed something that we would see many more times during the rest of our stay in the Bali

Due to the fact that we are still living thousand miles away between Indonesia and United States, we decided to meet in Indonesia and take trips there as a start of our journey. We are going to share a story of our trip to Bali (again) in 2015 and Lombok as a part of Komodo adventure tour. As you can read from our story before, Joe got sick on our first trip to Bali in 2014, so we would like to give it another chance :p We were lucky enough to get promo tickets to Bali with AirAsia for IDR 770,000 ($59) for both of us. Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan are two small islands surrounded by exceptionally beautiful coral reefs and white sand beach. There are few ways to go there from Bali, we can go from Sanur beach, Benoa or Padang Bai. This time we decided to start from Sanur to Jungutbatu by public speed boat. Departure time is at 08:00, 09:00, 12:30, 16:00 . You can go to the office locket near to Mak Beng restaurant, 20 minutes before departure. If you're lucky you'll

Image source The Gili Islands are an archipelago of three small islands — Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air — just off the northwest coast of Lombok, Indonesia. Gili Trawangan is the largest of Lombok's Gili Islands and the only one to rise significantly (30 m) above sea level. (Source: www.wikipedia.org) This time we are going to share our trip to Bali and Gili Trawangan, Lombok. Day 1 We already had an awesome itinerary including seeing the dolphins at Lovina beach and monkeys at Ubud. We already booked everything, plane tickets with AirAsia, fast boat tickets to Gili Trawangan, hotels and rental car. We arrived at 17:55 lt and decided to just stay at the hotel because we were gonna have a very busy day ahead started in the morning.  Harper Kuta Hotel Day 2 The plan was to visit Lovina beach and see the dolphins, Monkey Forest in Ubud, Tanah Lot in Tabanan and wander around Kuta. We were so excited about it that we even went to sleep ear

Padang Bai Harbour

On this beautiful day, we headed to Gili Trawangan with a fast boat from Padang Bai. The cost was IDR 450,000 ($35) per pax including pick-up and drop-off service from our hotel to Padang Bai and vice versa. It takes 2 hours from our hotel in Kuta to Padang Bai and 1.5 hours from Padang Bai to Gili Trawangan. We did not take the picture of the boat because it was really crowded but it has been a fun experience! PS: that was not the boat.

Kuta Beach

July 9, 2014. This was the first trip we took together that would make our future. After a day of lounging around, we decided to walk from our hotel to Kuta Beach. After about twenty minutes of walking, we approached the stone gateway and were met with the waves and oceanic breeze. We walked around, laid out in beach chairs, and watched the sunset.
