LOB Komodo Tour - Pink Beach (Day 3)

Image
Pink Beach We were not sure how long it took to go from one island to another. We wished we could have had more than 24 hours in a day so we could explore more places. We arrived at the famous Pink Beach to snorkel and we stayed for no more than two hours here.  The pink color of the beach was said to derive from the fractions of coral reefs, named Homtrema rubrum , which mixed with white sand of the beach.    Old man in the sand.  We definitely took a lot of underwater pictures as well. We found Nemo Pretty little red starfish Clam Shy blue starfish Goby fish These little electric blue fish are so cute And these fish, you don't even have to snorkel to see them. They love chasing you To be continued.

LOB Komodo Tour - Gili Laba (Day 3)

Day 3 (Gili Laba) Gili Laba Another trekking activity with a beautiful view on our third day. Padar Island is also beautiful but despite our best efforts, we couldn't persuade the guide and boat captain to include it in our itinerary today. The guide said that it would take longer to go to Padar Island considering that we started this journey from Lombok, so maybe next time :( We loved how our eyes were spoiled with the spectacular view on our boat trip. There's not enough words that could express how beautiful it is. The hill on Gili Laba is higher than the one in Kanawa Island. We hiked to the point that we finally gave up because we ran out of breath and due to Ayu's fear of heights. We were probably the only people who stayed in the middle of the hill, the majority climbed up until the top of the hill (yes, yes, we suck, we know). Even the view is breathtaking already from our spot, so that's enough for us. Only a few greenish parts You

LOB Komodo Tour - Moyo Island , Satonda Island , Gili Laba (Day 2)

Day 2 (Moyo Island, Satonda Island, Gili Laba) Moyo Island Today, we went to Moyo Island to see the waterfall in Moyo Forest and take a much needed shower there. It's an interesting thought because we were at sea and only had access to a simple toilet. We had to take the small boat to get to the island because the boat couldn't lean there. If you know how to swim (which Ayu doesn't), it would be preferred to swim to the island because it's not really far from the island and the water is actually tempting, clean, and clear. Row, row, row your boat! The swimmers We took a guided trek through the forest to find the waterfall. The guide is very experienced, so we wouldn't have to worry about getting lost. It didn't take too long to find the waterfall, and the hike was not really that hard to do; 100% safe. If you're brave enough to get a closer look at the waterfall, you can climb the slippery rocks that lead up to it.

LOB Komodo Tour - Kanawa Island , Gili Bola (Day 1)

This was like the peak of our vacation this time, seeing the KOMODO DRAGONS ! We joined 4D3N Live on Board with  Kencana Adventure  for this trip.   They offer the Standard Boat and Phinisi Boat. We chose the Standard Boat because (of course) it's cheaper, IDR 1,500,000 ($114) per pax and all inclusive. The Standard Boat schedule departs from Lombok to Labuan Bajo every Monday and Thursday, and departs from Labuan Bajo to Lombok every Monday and Friday. Our starting point was Lombok. Mr. Arie from Kencana Adventure picked us up at our hotel at 09:00 AM. The tour started with a visit to Kencana Adventure office to register ourselves and pay for the tour. On the way to the harbour, the staff bought food (vegetables, rice, fruits) and gave us a chance to stop at a shop to buy anything we needed.  Day 1 (Kanawa Island,  Gili Bola ) Too bad that we went here in dry season because everything looked so brownish and dry. We found out that the best time to do the trip is

The Unexpected Lombok Trip

We were supposed to go to the three Gili Islands but the plan was stifled because we ran out of time. We took a fast boat from Nusa Lembongan to Gili Trawangan with Super Scoot Catamaran for IDR 600,000 ($45) per pax, departed at 10:30.  We had planned to go snorkeling with a glass bottom boat at 13:00 but we didn't think we would get there on time so we changed the schedule to Lombok instead of Gili Trawangan. It was really spontaneous and unexpected, and for the first time, we really didn't have an itinerary plan for this trip. As the original plan was to get off at Gili Trawangan, the officers labeled our bags as "Gili Trawangan". So when we suddenly had to get off at Bangsal harbour, Lombok, it took approximately 15 minutes to find our bags and the guys were pretty annoyed at us for the inconvenience. Yes it was our fault, we just wanted to find our bags quickly, leave the angry guys and get off the boat.  Once you get off at Bangsal harbour, ther
