The Unexpected Lombok Trip

We were supposed to go to the three Gili Islands but the plan was stifled because we ran out of time. We took a fast boat from Nusa Lembongan to Gili Trawangan with Super Scoot Catamaran for IDR 600,000 ($45) per pax, departed at 10:30. 

We had planned to go snorkeling with a glass bottom boat at 13:00 but we didn't think we would get there on time so we changed the schedule to Lombok instead of Gili Trawangan. It was really spontaneous and unexpected, and for the first time, we really didn't have an itinerary plan for this trip.

As the original plan was to get off at Gili Trawangan, the officers labeled our bags as "Gili Trawangan". So when we suddenly had to get off at Bangsal harbour, Lombok, it took approximately 15 minutes to find our bags and the guys were pretty annoyed at us for the inconvenience. Yes it was our fault, we just wanted to find our bags quickly, leave the angry guys and get off the boat. 

Once you get off at Bangsal harbour, there will be a lot of people who offer transportation from that location to wherever you stay in Lombok. The cost depends on the distance. We still didn't know where we were gonna stay but we knew we didn't want to waste any time. The only thing we knew at the moment was we had to find a hotel near Senggigi beach.

We finally chose to stay at Bumi Aditya Hotel Senggigi for IDR 250,000 ($19) per night. There's nothing much to tell about this part of Lombok. We went to the beach and it was not that interesting, the hotel was nice though. Likely because we really didn't plan it and since it was such a short visit with limited time, we couldn't figure out where to go, so we spent much of our time relaxing at the hotel.

The Road to CR-1 (Spouse) Visa

It had been such torture to be left in limbo about our case. Our case was approved on July 1st, 2016 but we were still clueless about the result because the  USCIS has transferred the case to the  NVC .   E very day, w e checked the progress on their website in case there was an update but the result remained the same, " At NVC ". Our lawyer said it usually takes 2 months but it had been 3 months and still hadn't received any news.  Ayu read any thread and article she could find on Google and even made an account on VisaJourney   to talk about our case with people who were going through the same process . We learned people would call the NVC in order to get an update on their case and they did so every day, so we thought it was a good idea as well. Bali to Gili Trawangan
